In 1960 John F Kennedy was elected as the president of America. He was no racist. He was on the side of the Black Americans and argued FOR them in the Civil rights act of 1964. On the 12th of June 1963 the bill was introduced by president Kennedy. In this bill he requested that ALL americans, black and white, have the rights to be served in the same facilities which are open to the public. Such as; hotels, restaurants, theaters, retail stores, and similar establishments. Bassically the bill was set in place to outlaw racial segregation in schools, public places and employment. This was mainly aimed to stop the racism around the entire USA. The president himself was not an African American, he was indeed one of the white people.
